13 de oct. de 2016 · My love of Dischord Records came at the time when the label was conspicuously moving away from anything that could be characterized as ‘hardcore.’ The first Dischord thing that I truly, truly, truly loved was Shudder To Think. This was a band that aesthetically scandalized a lot of people, but they were thrilling to me.
Dischord Records. Washington, D.C.. Dischord Records is an independent record label based in Washington, D.C. It was founded by Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson in 1980 to put out The Teen Idles' "Minor Disturbance" single and has since released music by Minor Threat, Void, Fugazi, Jawbox, Nation Of Ulysses, and many other D.C.-based artists.
In late 2008 Dischord Records brought the production of our records back to the USA after many years working in Europe. In doing so we had to begin re-cutting much of our vinyl catalog for US plants. We began by re-pressing current titles, and later re-issuing others, all re-cut at Chicago Mastering Service, many from from the Silver Sonya masters.
