Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism, University of São Paulo The Architecture and Urbanism College, University of São Paulo is an architecture and design school in the University of São Paulo in Brazil.It was founded in 1948 by a group of teachers from Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo.The current school building was designed by João Batista Vilanova Artigas.
The University City was part of a project to expand and articulate units of the University of São Paulo in a single campus, a project carried out by the governor Carvalho Pinto, in the early 1960s. In the wake of Brasilia’s construction and the great works that followed and which characterized our "developmentalism" period.

The architects, the founders of the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo, adopted the reinforced concrete as a plastic and constructive language that gives rise to volumes sustained in complex structures of great light. The project is based on the idea of generating spatial continuity.
