He aquí en un solo cd los dos álbumes editados en vida por Gram Parsons en solitario. En solitario es un decir, porque le acompañan casi todos los colaboradores de Flying Burrito Brothers. Se trata de un disco excelente (GP) y de una absoluta obra maestra (Grievous angel) grabados en 1963 y 1964 respectivamente, en un momento en que el talento de Parsons estaba en su máximo esplendor.

Grievous Angel gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Alben des Country-Rocks. Der US-amerikanische Rolling Stone setzte das Album 2003 auf Platz 429 seiner 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Dagegen bewertete Mark Deming auf Allmusic den Vorgänger GP als das bessere Album und Grievous Angel nur als „a very, very good one“ („ein sehr, sehr gutes“). In der deutschen Liste erreichte es Platz 137.
