Geography. Camden School For Girls has a long and proud tradition in Geography. Alumnus Eva Germaine Rimington Taylor (1879–1966) was the first woman to hold an Academic Chair of Geography in the United Kingdom. From 1908 to 1910 she acted as research assistant to A J Herbertson, head of the Oxford Geography School.

Founded in 1871 by the suffragist Frances Mary Buss, who also founded North London Collegiate School, the Camden School for Girls was one of the first girls' schools in England.Although not a fee-paying school by then, girls in the mid-20th century wore a traditional uniform of dark green, with blue and green striped ties.
