Inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki, 30 sees Adele tackle the separation, whilst discussing her motherhood and the scrutiny of fame. The album was written over 2018 through 2021, produced by Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, and Shellback, who also worked on its predecessor, 25 (2015).
After graduating from the BRIT School in 2006, Adele signed a recording contract with XL Recordings. In 2007, she received the Brit Awards Critics' Choice Award and won the BBC Sound of 2008 poll. Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008.
