Melina Mercouri. (Atenas, 1922 - Nueva York, 1994) Actriz y política griega. Descubierta por el comediógrafo francés Marcel Achard, debutó en el teatro en 1952, y tres años después interpretó su primera película, Stella (1955), bajo la batuta del director teatral y cineasta greco-chipriota Michael Cacoyannis.
