The Breeders es una banda americana de rock alternativo basada en Dayton, Ohio, y formada en 1988 por Kim Deal, ... y Mountain Battles (2008). En 2009, The Breeders grabaron el EP Fate to Fatal y después se tomaron un descanso. Kim volvió con los Pixies para hacer una gira mundial.

Questo Mountain Battles, cui hanno partecipato altri musicisti rispetto a quelli dell’attuale formazione e che è stato prodotto da Stevie Albini (si capisce da dove arrivano le spigolosità!), ed è l’album che segna la “terza” ripartenza delle Breeders. Se vogliamo, rispetto ai precedenti lavori è anzi ancor più “delicato” nei toni.
