referencing Endlessly (CD, Album, Enhanced, Barnes & Noble Edition) B0015187-02 I have to agree with most music critics on this one, this album is rather weak compared to her debut album. And I also think it is because of the producer -- she only hired one specific producer to produced the whole album, thus there's not a lot of eclectic choices to choose from.
2 de mar. de 2011 · By now, it should be clear that Endlessly is a far cry from the understated elegance of Duffy’s memorable 2008 debut, Rockferry — whose main driver, Suede’s Bernard Butler, is notably absent here. Rockferry, too, was proudly retro, but it specifically evoked late-1960s London, and Duffy didn’t go out of her way to sound brassy.

"Endlessly" demonstates that Duffy can apply some "umph" to here music and does not have to rely heavily on ballads. For me this is a perfect complliment to "Rockferry" as it provides a contrast in style whilst having the same kind of quality feel to the material that would fit amongst the best produced in previous generations.
