  1. 30 de mar. de 2017 · Cannibal Ox – ‘Vein’ (2001) The Cold Vein is grimey. Not in the way of genre but in the way, it holds humanity down on the floor and forces it to eat the dirt. The world is a dark place and there is rubbish in every corner. Like much of the album ‘Vein’ proceeds as if it’s ricocheting off society’s worst nightmares of itself.

  2. 11 de feb. de 2007 · Cannibal Ox's "The Cold Vein" is the single best album yet released by Def Jux and El-P. The album is so dense that when I was first listening to it, I had to go back and do it again twice: once for the beats and once for the lyrics. 6. 20 de ago. de 2001 · El-P manages to combine the repetitive mantra-like ghostly voices and strings from various parts of Glass's work with his non-formulaic approach to hip hop production. There are moments of pure bliss when these elements are combined (particularly on "Straight off the D.I.C." and a secret 15th track on the CD), which allow the Glass samples to elevate further the intensity of the rhymes and beats.

  7. El-P producing another group's entire hiphop album was bound to be a masterpiece. The lyrics, the beats, the flows, the messages, it all blends together into some of the craziest tracks of the early 2000s. (Favorites: "Scream Pheonix", "Vein", "Pigeon") (Least Favorites: N/A)
