Feeling the need to revitalize his outdated trumpet jazz, Alpert made his way to Minneapolis to work with Jam & Lewis, the songwriting & production duo and ex-The Time members who produced Janet Jackson’s chart-topping 1986 album Control.
Keep Your Eye On Me was released in 1987 as Herb Alpert's huge comeback music. He teamed with Jam and Lewis who shaped Janet Jackson Control earlier in her career. This CD was given the jazz a brand new direction with Keep Your Eye On Me, Diamonds, and Making Love In The Rain were smash dance grooves.
