Chariots of Fire (1981) triumphed at the Oscars with wins in Best Picture, Costume Design, Music, and Writing categories. It was the opening film at the New York Film Festival, the British entry at the Cannes Film Festival, and ultimately grossed just under sixty million worldwide.
For a story made nearly a century ago, a movie produced over three decades ago, this film is standing to inspire through time. Few can portray such brilliance these days, and thus, I am humbled, by a generation past, fully capable in capacity to be greatness and be resolved in character and belief.
