Donovan’s Reef is a delightful, breezy “good-bye” to the legendary collaboration between John Ford and John Wayne. This is the self-referential hang-out film of Ford’s career as well, dropping in slight nods to The Quiet Man and his general aloof way of conjuring comedy.
