Laine Theatre Arts, sometimes referred to as Laines, is an independent performing arts college, based in the town of Epsom in Surrey, England.The college was founded in 1974 by former professional dancer and dance teacher Betty Laine OBE, and developed from an earlier school, the Frecker-Laine School of Dancing. It provides specialist vocational training in dance and musical theatre.
Before you can access student finance, Laine Theatre Arts must be registered with the regulator for higher education in England, the Office for Students (OfS). Laine is applying to register with the OfS but is not currently registered and you will only be able to access student finance if our application is successful.
She joined the faculty of Laine Theatre Arts teaching tap in 2008 and is now Head of Musical Theatre and Vice Principal of the college. Sally believes in focusing on the individual potential of each student to achieve their highest level of attainment, underpinning their professional training with mutual respect, co-operation and understanding.
The duration of our Diploma course is three years and the minimum age of entry is 16. 5th – 10th of August 2024. £410.00. This six-day course is for young performers aged 12-18 and is held at the Laine Studios in Epsom. Students choose to specialise in either dance or musical theatre and will experience a mixed timetable of technical classes, workshops and rehearsal sessions, culminating in an end-of-week performance.
It is with regret that Laine Theatre Arts is unable to offer a place, in this next academic year 2022/23, to any applicant who does not hold a British passport or Settled Status. The college is shortly to apply for Office for Students (OfS) registration.
