Alex North fue un compositor estadounidense de música de cine. Es quien más veces ha sido nominado al premio Oscar como autor de bandas sonoras, sin conseguir nunca el premio en esa categoría. A cambio en 1986 recibió el primer Óscar honorífico concedido a un compositor.
