It is about 30 minutes south of the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
11 de jun. de 2024 · At the centennial of the nation’s founding, Northfield, Minnesota, was a bucolic river town on the plains 40 miles south of St. Paul with a tidy business block, flour mill, railroad and two small colleges. Hardworking immigrant farmers—Norwegians, Swedes and Czechoslovakians—populated the area.

It’s best known as the site of an attempted robbery by the infamous James-Younger Gang that took place in September 1876, which resulted in a battle with the townspeople that ended with the criminals being either captured or killed.
