Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson (8 de agosto de 1979, Reikiavik, Islandia [1] ) es un exjugador profesional de balonmano que jugaba de extremo izquierdo, y que en la actualidad ejerce como entrenador del VfL Gummersbach.
Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson (born 8 August 1979) is an Icelandic retired handball player and current coach of VfL Gummersbach. A captain of the Iceland men's national handball team, Guðjón Valur broke the world record for most goals scored in international men's handball in 2018.
Since retirement, Sigurdsson has taken up coaching. He took over as head coach for Gummersbach - his first foreign club as a player - in 2020, and steered them to promotion to the top tier of the Bundesliga in 2021/22. In 2022/23, Sigurdsson was named Coach of the Year for the Bundesliga. WATCH HERE
