All the Pirates’ runs were the result of long balls swatted by Willie Stargell, Al Oliver, Manny Sanguillen and Bob Robertson, giving Nellie Briles all the support he needed for the complete game win; July 9th was a good day to send Briles against the Bravos (see above).
