Hace 4 días · Romford, or 'Romford side', was a chapelry of the ancient parish of Hornchurch, containing five wards: town, Harold Wood, Collier Row, Noak Hill, and Havering. (fn. 2) It remained subject to Hornchurch for church purposes until the 19th century, but for civil purposes was virtually independent by the 16th century.
