20 de abr. de 2022 · DoT is pretty streamlined but happens to be pretty heavy at times, and would probably suit your tastes. The albums I'd be hesitant to recommend to start with are Awake, Falling into Infinity, Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory, Train of Thought, Dream Theater (2013), and A View From the Top of the World.

I did some extra research by going to the TVTrops page for Dream Theater and checking which songs were recommended on the Awesome Music sub-page. That was a good place to start as it recommended songs that hadn't made it to Greatest Hit, such as Panic Attack.

I think you should start with these, to have a sense of the classic DT, their masterpieces and where they come from. Then, you can listen to Awake, Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence and then, Falling Into Infinity.

What is your unpopular Dream Theater opinion? Panic Attack, while a good song, is overrated, and wouldn't even be in my top 50 Dream Theater songs if I made a list.

22 de sept. de 2022 · Awake is my favorite Dream Theater album. That being said, I can totally understand why some people may feel underwhelmed by it. There are many possible reasons for not enjoying Awake (as for any other album), but I have a theory about it: Awake is one of the most heterogeneous records the band has ever written.
