In August, Mark and Almond left to form the eponymous group Mark-Almond, [25] and Mayall put together another lineup which included former Canned Heat members Harvey Mandel (guitar) and Larry Taylor (bass), as well as violinist Don "Sugarcane" Harris. [24]
At the end of the 1980s Mayall remixed some tracks and issued them along with some of the older material as Archives to Eighties. An expanded two-CD version of Back to the Roots now includes both the original and later remixed versions of the tracks.

Canned Heat bassist Larry Taylor would join Mayall as one of three American musicians along with former Canned Heat guitarist/electric guitarist Harvey Mandel and electric violinist Sugarcane Harris. This lineup would record 1970's USA Union.

18 de nov. de 2019 · The childish `lift-music' sound of Mayall's re-recorded keyboard in the initial part of Looking At Tomorrow has destroyed the impact of Harvey Mandel's soaring hook in the original version. Mayall's re-recorded vocals do not add any value and mostly sound contrived.
