Atsuhime (篤姫, "Princess Atsu") is a 2008 Japanese historical drama television series. It is the 47th NHK taiga drama. It aired from January 6 to December 14, 2008, and ran a total of 50 episodes. The drama chronicles the life of Tenshō-in, based on Tomiko Miyao 's 1984 novel Tenshō-in Atsuhime (天璋院篤姫).
When she was adopted by Shimazu Nariakira, her name was changed to Atsuko (篤子) or Atsu-hime (篤姫) ("Lady Atsu") and later to Fujiwara no Sumiko (藤原敬子) upon her adoption by Konoe Tadahiro. Biography Portrait of Tensho-in by Kawamura Kiyoo. Tenshōin was born in Kagoshima in 1835.
