Carl Iwan Clowes OBE (11 December 1943 – 4 December 2021) was a Welsh medical practitioner. In 1978 he founded the Nant Gwrtheyrn Trust in order to buy the village of Nant Gwrtheyrn, to restore and regenerate it and to set up a Welsh language centre.

Carl Iwan Clowes - Cof y Cwmwd. Symudodd y meddyg, y Dr Carl Iwan Clowes (1943-2021) i Lanaelhaearn ym 1970 i weithio fel unig feddyg teulu’r ardal. Cafodd ei fagu ym Manceinion er i’w fam, a oedd yn Gymraes, hanu o Ogledd Cymru ac yng Ngogledd Cymru y treuliodd yntau lawer o’i amser pan yn ifanc.
