Reggie Washington. Reginald Reuben Washington (born July 28, 1962 in New York City) is an American jazz bassist. He is the brother of drummer Kenny Washington. [1] Reggie and his brother Kenny played percussion instruments as The Washington Brothers from age seven.
A versatile, 360-degree musician, Reggie plays Jazz, Funk, R&B, Blues, World, and Experimental music with a natural and contagious energy. His bass lines are both sophisticated and explicit. He is diligent in his work and enjoys mixing people of different cultures as a way to enhance music by learning from others and sharing ideas.
Reggie Washington has recorded 5 albums under his name since 2005 on Jammin’colorS label. These albums include original compositions and tunes from artists such as John Coltrane, Jef Lee Johnson, Wayne Shorter, Ludwig van Beethoven, Serge Gainsbourg, Bill Frisell, Thelonious Monk, Marcus Miller and Jean-Paul Bourelly.
