Stefanie Ann Sargent (June 1, 1968 – June 27, 1992) was an American musician. She was the lead guitarist and co-founder of Seattle punk rock band 7 Year Bitch. [1] [2] [3] She died from asphyxiation after choking on her vomit at the age of 24 on June 27, 1992, four months before the release of 7 Year Bitch's debut album, Sick 'Em .

Biography. Career. 7 Year Bitch was formed in 1990 by vocalist Selene Vigil, guitarist Stefanie Sargent, bassist Elizabeth Davis and drummer Valerie Agnew. Vigil, Sargent, and Agnew had been playing together in the Seattle band Barbie's Dream Car when their bassist left for Europe.

Stefanie Ann Sargent was a familiar figure in the Seattle music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and became well recognized as the original guitarist for 7 Year Bitch. She first played with Selene Vigil-Wilk (vocals), Valerie Agnew (drums) and Lisa Orth (guitar) in the band Barbie’s Dream Car.
Much of the band's most iconic work was colored by a series of terrible losses--the passing of founding guitarist Stefanie Sargent in 1992 and the murder of The Gits frontwoman (and longtime friend and mentor) Mia Zapata in 1993--events that powerfully informed some of the band's most potent music.
