After experimenting with a few lineups, Crowe hired bassist Steve Bryant, mandolinist Jimmy Gadreau, as well as former Ralph Stanley guitarist Keith Whitley. This band produced three albums: My Home Ain't In the Hall of Fame, Live in Japan, and Somewhere Between.

18 de abr. de 2016 · Personnel – JD Crowe (banjo and vocals), Keith Whitley (guitar and vocals), Jimmy Gaudreau (mandolin and vocals), Steve Bryant (electric bass) and Bobby Slone (fiddle). Rounder Records released the recordings on LP, called Live in Japan, in 1987, Rounder 0159, and re-issued them on CD in 1997.
