  3. History. By Gabriel Ireton. A Tale of Two Logstowns. Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, emerged at about 1750 as an Indian village on the back-channel of an Ohio River island. There, French settlers traded with Delawares, Iroquois and Shawnees. It would later be called, “Logstown,” by the British after Logstown Run that ran past the village to the river.
