The Gang’s beginnings date back to 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, when drummer Jim Fox, guitarist Glenn Schwartz, and bassist Tom Kriss joined together to form the band. Fox and Kriss decided to continue with new singer/guitarist Joe Walsh after Schwartz left to join Pacific Gas & Electric.
This is the James Gang's only album to feature their bassist Tom Kriss. He was replaced by Dale Peters for their next album. The album is the first to feature guitarist Joe Walsh, who would later achieve success as a solo artist and with the Eagles .
