Anne, Lady Fairfax (born Anne Vere, also known as Anne Fairfax; 1617/1618 – 1665) was an English noblewoman. She was the wife of Thomas Fairfax, 3rd Lord Fairfax of Cameron, commander-in-chief of the New Model Army. She followed her husband as he fought and she was briefly taken prisoner.

Fairfax House on Castlegate is now described as the finest Georgian townhouse in England. It was created in 1762 as a dowry for Anne Fairfax, the only surviving child of Viscount Fairfax.
He also won the hand of Anne Fairfax of Belvoir, an estate nearby his own in Fairfax, Virginia, achieving a very advantageous marriage for himself. Her father was the Honorable Colonel William Fairfax, the cousin and land agent for Thomas, Baron Cameron, Sixth Lord Fairfax.

Probably built around 1745, he bought Fairfax House for Anne in 1759. Located on the ‘Castlehill’, near to York’s ancient castle complex, with its red brick and stone dressings, the interior was remodelled by York’s famous architect John Carr.
