Shay is the eldest member of Ireland’s Black Family, who are “regarded as one of the most impressive groups of Irish singers to be found anywhere” according to a review in The Irish Echo.
The Black Family are a Celtic music ensemble, composed of Mary and Frances Black and their siblings, Shay, Michael, and Martin. The family has been called "one of the most important musical clans in Ireland".
Biography. Shay & Michael Black are singing siblings from Ireland's foremost family of song, The Black Family, which also includes their sisters Mary & Frances, & brother, Martin.
Each show is interspersed with stories, jokes and humorous childhood anecdotes, so that audiences invariably leave their concerts smiling broadly and humming new choruses. Shay and Michael Black are now touring the U.S. regularly. The brothers have recently been joined by piano player, Eamonn Flynn.
