Falsifiers of History was a book published by the Soviet Information Bureau, edited and partially re-written by Joseph Stalin, in response to documents made public in January 1948 regarding German–Soviet relations before and after the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.

WE BELIEVE that "Falsifiers of History," issued by the Soviet Information Bureau of Moscow in February, 1948, and the introduction by Frederick L. Schuman, originally published in the April 1948 issue of Soviet Russia Today, are significant documents shedding informative light on an important period of recent history.
In this paper, the authors deciphered, translated and compared the text of the published pamphlet. It shows Stalin’s guidelines in the official interpretation of the causes of World War II and the reasons for the signing of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
The secret protocols that accompanied the pact, dividing eastern europe into German and Russian spheres of influence, were never mentioned in Falsifiers of History, and subsequently their existence was explicitly denied by Soviet historians. This picture of europe’s descent into war during the 1930s did not change very much after Stalin’s death.
