St. Julie's Catholic High School is a Roman Catholic secondary school for girls aged 11–18 located in Woolton, Liverpool . History. The school is the amalgamation of several different institutions, most established by the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, founded by Saint Julie Billiart.
When enrollment increased, they built Julienne High School in 1927. Today, along with the Society of Mary, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur own and operate Chaminade Julienne High School. In 1897, the Sisters opened St. Xavier Commercial High School, a two-year high school in downtown Cincinnati, to prepare young women for a business career.
The Pontifical College Josephinum is a Roman Catholic seminary and private university in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded by Joseph Jessing in 1888 and was granted the status of a Pontifical College in 1892 by Pope Leo XIII, making it the only pontifical seminary in North America.
The high schools in the Diocese of Columbus are different than what you might find in other Catholic school systems. Ten of the 11 high schools are Diocesean owned and operated. One – St. Charles Preparatory – began as the Diocesan seminary and remains all-male.
