  5. 22 de may. de 2015 · The IAAF is deeply saddened to learn that Anna Rita Sidoti, the 1997 world 10,000m race walking champion, died on Wednesday (20) after battling breast cancer. She was 45 years old. Born in Sicily in 1969, Sidoti’s talent for race walking was discovered at an early age.

  6. Annarita Sidoti was the first great Italian female walker. She won 10 Italian titles, but the highlights of her career were winning the 1997 World Championship, and European Championships in both 1990 and 1998 in the 10 km, adding a silver medal in the 1994 Europeans.
