  3. Professional Career. Terrell defeated Eddie Machen by a fifteen-round unanimous decision to win the vacant WBA Heavyweight Championship on March 3, 1965. The WBA had stripped Muhammad Ali of the title for signing to fight Sonny Liston in a rematch, which took place on May 25, 1965.
