Lucien Petipa (22 December 1815 – 7 July 1898) was a French ballet dancer in the early 19th century (Romantic period), who was the brother of Marius Petipa, the famous ballet master of the Russian Imperial Ballet. He was born in Marseilles and died in Versailles.

Lucien Petipa. Bailarín, coreógrafo y maestro de ballet francés nacido en Marsella el 22 de diciembre de 1815 y muerto en Versalles el 7 de julio de 1898. Era hijo de Jean-Antoine y hermano de Marius. Tras realizar sus estudios de la mano de su padre, hizo su debut en Bruselas.

French dancer, choreographer and ballet master. Son of the dancer Jean Antoine Petipa, brother of Marius Petipa. He studied with his father and danced for him in Brussels and Bordeaux. In 1839 he moved to Paris, where he made his debut in 1840 partnering Elssler in La Sylphide.
