Three of the original four band members, bassist Jamie Krents, vocalist/drummer Nick Stumpf, and vocalist/guitarist Matthew Stinchcomb, are from Washington, D.C.
Formed in 1998 in New York City, French Kicks began as a post-punk influenced garage-rock-eque band but began listing toward indie rock as their albums progressed.
