Richmond Fontaine was an American four-piece rock and alternative country band, based in Portland, Oregon. They were active between 1994 and 2016 and recorded eleven studio albums, four live albums and two EPs.

Richmond Fontaine was formed in 1994 at Portland Meadows racetrack in Portland, Oregon as songwriter/vocalist Willy Vlautin and bassist Dave Harding pored over the racing form and talked music between races. The two took their mutual love of Husker Du, Willie Nelson, X, The Blasters, and The Replacements and started playing music together.
Su visión del rock americano es, hoy por hoy, una de las más estimulantes del género, y las letras de Vlautin (que también ha publicado varias novelas) les distinguen de compañeros de generación menos dotados. A finales de mes vuelven de gira por España.

Siempre es una agradable sorpresa encontrarse con un nuevo álbum de Richmond Fontaine entre la manos, y máxime cuando resulta que han transcurrido cinco años desde su último lanzamiento discográfico, el correcto " The High Country".
