William Booth (Nottingham, 10 de abril de 1829 - Londres, 20 de agosto de 1912) fue un predicador metodista inglés que, junto con su esposa, Catherine, fundó el Ejército de Salvación y se convirtió en su primer general (1878-1912).

The Christian movement with a quasi-military structure and government founded in 1865 has spread from London to many parts of the world.

The son of a speculative builder, Booth was apprenticed as a boy to a pawnbroker. At 15 he underwent the experience of religious conversion and became a revivalist preacher.
