The philosopher and theologian Hans Ehrenberg was born in Altona, Germany into a Jewish family (a cousin of Franz Rosenzweig) in 1883. He finished his studies in economics, law, political studies, and philosophy in Heidelberg in 1910, and one year later he converted to Christianity.
