L'abbé Sicard fut honoré de la visite du pape Pie VII en 1805 et de celle des monarques alliés en 1815 ; il fut comblé des faveurs de ces souverains et de Louis XVIII. De 1816 jusqu'à sa mort, il célébra la messe de saint Louis devant l'Académie.
