David Dana "Dave" Clark (born April 7, 1944) is an American computer scientist and Internet pioneer who has been involved with Internet developments since the mid-1970s. David Dana Clark has pioneered the development of the internet since the 1970s. This computer scientist received the IEEE Richard W. Hamming Medal in 1998 "for leadership and major contributions to the architecture of the Internet as a universal information medium."

In 2003 Dr. Clark launched the Communications Futures Program at MIT, a multi-lab, multi-disciplinary program to look at the future of the communications industry. Starting in 2000, with the NewArch project, Clark has looked at possible architectural alternatives to the current Internet.
