Thomas Bartholin (latinizado como Thomas Bartolinus) (20 de octubre de 1616 – 4 de diciembre de 1680) fue un médico, matemático y teólogo danés, hijo de Caspar Bartholin el Viejo y Anna Fincke, hija a su vez del matemático Thomas Fincke.
Thomas Bartholin ( / bɑːrˈtoʊlɪn, ˈbɑːrtəlɪn /; Latinized as Thomas Bartholinus; 20 October 1616 – 4 December 1680) was a Danish physician, mathematician, and theologian. He discovered the lymphatic system in humans and advanced the theory of refrigeration anesthesia, being the first to describe it scientifically.

Thomas Bartholin (born Oct. 20, 1616, Copenhagen, Den.—died Dec. 4, 1680, Copenhagen) was a Danish anatomist and mathematician who was first to describe fully the entire human lymphatic system (1652).

Thomas Bartholin continuó intensamente sus estudios anatómicos, practicando numerosas disecciones humanas (Figura N° 3). De esta descubrió el conducto torácico y los vasos linfáticos que relacionó correctamente con los vasos sanguíneos.
