El SAF de Nowcasting (NWC SAF) de EUMETSAT, liderado por AEMET, pertenece a la Red de Centros de Aplicaciones Satelitales (Satellite Application Facilities, SAF) que la Organización Europea para la Explotación de los Satélites Meteorológicos (EUMETSAT) tiene distribuidos por Europa como parte del Segmento Terrestre.
The general objective of the SAFNWC is to provide operational services to ensure the optimum use of meteorological satellite data in Nowcasting and Very Short Range Forecasting by targeted users.
This guide explains the NWC SAF products from a practical point of view, when used in a forecasting environment. It should be useful for forecasters and end users. The main objective of this guide is to highlight the main characteristics of each product and its usefulness, as well as its limitations.
•Satellite Application Facility for suppor t to Nowcasting (SAFNWC): es un proyecto de EUMETSA T liderado por AEMET , cuyo objetivo es el uso de las imágenes de satélite en la previsión inmediata y a muy corto plazo. Utilizaremos algunos de los productos derivados de Meteosat Segunda Generación MSG).
To achieve this goal, the SAFNWC is responsible for the development and maintenance of appropriate SW Packages, as well as of all related tasks for user\'s support. Moreover, the SAFNWC intends to be a Centre of Excellence for Nowcasting in EUMETSAT.
