Respondía al nombre de Christl Cranz y era a su vez hermana de Rudi Cranz, otro esquiador olímpico (aunque en su caso no pasase de un sexto puesto).
Christl Franziska Antonia Cranz-Borchers (1 July 1914 – 28 September 2004) was a German alpine ski racer. Cranz dominated international competition in the 1930s, winning twelve world championship titles between 1934 and 1939 .

Christl Cranz won two Olympic titles in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936. Her Olympic combined slalom victory represented the first ever Olympic Alpine skiing title; she then went on to win the slalom.
