Damián Emiliano Martínez Romero (born 2 September 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Argentina national team. Martínez trained at Independiente's youth ranks before moving to Premier League club Arsenal in 2010.
Emiliano Martínez joined Aston Villa in September 2020, making the move to the Midlands after spending 10 years at Arsenal. The Argentinian became an instant hit with the fans, saving a penalty on his Premier League debut and keeping a clean sheet as Villa beat Sheffield United.
