Fittingly the woman from the town with the coffee pot water tower went on to be perhaps best remembered as the spokesperson for Folgers Coffee.The slogan “Mountain Grown” appears in many ads, but the iconic actress was in fact Iowa grown.
Virginia Christine's creative partnership with famed director-producer Stanley Kramer encompassed six films. The two most well-known entries in the collaboration are the 1952 Gary Cooper Western "High Noon" and the 1967 topical drama "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," in which Christine portrayed Hilary St. George, the racist co-worker of Katharine Hepburn's Christina Drayton.
