John Wark could play in defence and attack but was most effective as a midfielder who could break forward and score goals. Wark would enjoy three separate spells with Ipswich Town and was particularly successful in his first stint with the East Anglian club, winning the FA Cup in 1978, the UEFA Cup in 1981, as well as PFA Player of the Year and Young European Player of the Year awards in 1981.
