Broadway Danny Rose is a tribute to New York lounge acts and focuses on a hapless talent agent who incurs the ire of the mafia while escorting the mistress of one of his clients to an important show. It's essentially a farce adventure movie overlaid with Allen's usual blend of dry wit and philosophical musings, with a bit of silly slapstick thrown in for good measure.
