17 de abr. de 2017 · Japanese: 柴田勝家 (Shibata Katsuie) Shibata Katsuie served the Oda clan from his youth until Nobunaga's death in 1582. Interestingly, his first well-known act was one of treason. Although the details of the event are murky, it appears that in 1557 Katsuie plotted with Oda Nobuyuki and Hayashi Michikatsu against Nobunaga.
On March 12th, Katsuie Shibata led an army of 30,000 soldiers and encamped at Yanagase in Omi Province along with Toshiie Maeda and Morimasa Sakuma. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, on the other hand, left his 10,000-strong army in Ise as a countermeasure against Nagashima Castle, and led about 50,000 soldiers to take up camp in Kinomoto.
Shibata Katsuie, also called Gonroku, was born in Kamiyashiro village, Owari, now located in Meito-Ku, Nagoya City. Initially, he pledged allegiance to Oda Nobunaga's younger brother, Oda Nobukatsu, and participated in Nobukatsu's scheme to usurp his elder brother's power.Katsuie led the charge against Nobunaga in the Battle of Ino in 1556 but was defeated.
