24 de abr. de 2024 · Crater of Diamonds State Park is one of the nicest State Parks we have camped at. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed a full day of digging for diamonds. Our campsite was level, well kept, and offer plenty some privacy. The bath houses and shower facilities were clean and well kept as well. This is a perfect state park to set up the RV and relax.

This field is plowed regularly to assist prospectors in their quest for treasure. Over 40 types of rocks and minerals are found here, including amethysts, jaspers, garnets, quartz, peridots, and diamonds.

I started to visit a little more often and met several of the regular miners and began to learn the ropes about actually digging to gravel seams and tailings to find diamonds. That led to my next find, a yellow macle shaped diamond. I was hooked. It took me a few years to get back to the mine, and I had a few visits that were fruitless.
