David Letterman, born April 12, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, is a beloved American television host, comedian, and producer. He gained national recognition with his unique brand of humor as the host of NBC’s Late Night with David Letterman from 1982 to 1993, and then as the host of Late Show with David Letterman on CBS from 1993 until his retirement in 2015.
